About me

My name is Melkorka Yrr, an interior designer from Iceland, currently studying at IED Barcelona. My design journey is influenced by my Icelandic background, but living in Barcelona has added a rich layer of Spanish warmth and vibrancy to my work. It’s this blend - where Icelandic minimalism meets Spanish expressiveness - that has shaped my approach to design.

I specialize in residential, commercial and hospitality design, with a focus on creating spaces that tell a story. I believe in the ability of design that communicates emotions and dynamics. I aim to craft environments that engage and leave a lasting impression. For me - each space should evoke a sense of connection and meaning, beyond just function.

I’ve had the privilege of showcasing my work at events like Habitacola and Llum Nadal, which have been valuable opportunities to broaden my perspective and refine my skills. Along the way, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for how design can merge practicality with artistry, culture with comfort.
